The time has finally come for me to reveal my upcoming project!! In the IB Program at my school, we all participate in the Personal Project in sophomore year. The Personal Project is basically anything you want to do that produces something or has a learning outcome, with the point being the process of setting and achieving goals. For my project, I've chosen to create a short webcomic/graphic novel. It's my passion that I would love to get into head first and this seemed like a great opportunity to begin.
Since I want to continue this story further than planned, this is only the "beta" version to sorta experiment what it's like to actually make a webcomic. Later on when I reach a point when I've learned much more I can restart this series with more stylistic continuity and experience. It will only be about 20~ pages in length but nevertheless I hope that it will be enjoyable to read! I honestly feel like comics are the best way to combine my art and writing together so it will be refreshing to actually do it.
Not giving too
much away, the story will center on Isabella Pumpkin, a young adult in who is in the top family of the aristocratic circle in a province of Raineland. Being in the top family, they are recognized as royalty to a certain degree, having royal titles such as king, queen, etc. as well as more leverage than the other nobles in decisions though not absolute power. Her mother Catherine Pumpkin is the current ruling queen in place of her late husband, but as the years have passed she's gotten too old and sick, deciding it is time to pass the throne down to the next heir. Isabella, the only living descendant of the Pumpkins, will be given the crown as preparations are made for her coronation as the new queen.
A looot of other stuff happens, a lot more than that tiny background I gave and a lot more that won't be covered in the beta. Still though I don't like giving away spoilers, even those early on.
So for the next couple of months I will probs be devoting a lot of time towards this project, but who knows since I tend to be pretty fickle
. Even so, I'm determined to do this!
